Worth Buying

While the episode summaries for this companion book are on the skimpy side and there are some notable mistakes, the book has several pluses as well which make it worth the price. For one, the graphic design is quite good, making the book visually interesting. For those who look for photographs there are a quite a few included, although the color photo section consists of well known publicity shots for the series.
The real plus is both the introduction by creator Eric Kripke and the various behind-the-scenes comments from people involved with the show. Even for someone well acquainted with cast interviews and show trivia there are likely to be some new tidbits here.
While I wouldn't say there's any real depth in terms of insights into the show, the episodes, or the characters, this is not a bad job, and for someone who enjoys the series it'll be a good gift or addition to their collection.

SUPERNATURAL: THE SECRETS BEHIND THE SHOW

For fans of SUPERNATURAL, this quick read is a certain plus to add to your collection. There are lots of black and white photos of the cast and the assorted creeps they encountered throughout season one. There's also a great color photo section. Each episode is discussed in detail, highlighting both the production successes and failures encountered along the way. Including plenty of insightful quotes from the cast and production staff, this book provides the reader with plenty of answers for those things you might wonder about after watching the show.
My only gripe is that the font is a bit small and at times you find yourself straining to read some of the text and the "Did you know?" items that appear in shaded backgrounds. Even so, a small quibble for what is truly a keepsake and, no doubt, a one-day collector's item.
Delivery by Amazon was very speedy and the books were well packaged to avoid damage.

I really enjoy the commentaries

I really enjoy the commentaries. I've purchased them for seasons 2-7. I like reading the actors and crews behind the scenes opinions and stories about individual episodes and this did not disappoint. A very nice read for anyone who considers themselves more than a casual fan of the series.
